W.I.D.T.H. and a NSV

First.. I've gotta share this. Day 3 of intervals on the elliptical, and during my first 2 minute speed interval, I hit 7 mph- and held it there for the full 2 minutes. What?!?! I almost fell off when I saw that, and wanted to shout, "DUDE!!! Did you seeeee meeeee?!?!" Thankfully, I'm not THAT impulsive. I was impressed with just holding at 6mph on the first 2 days of intervals honestly. By the time I'm on the fourth, and final, interval- my muscles are jello. I didn't hit 7 mph again this morning, but I'm still psyched knowing that this fat girl is capable of it. Could this be a NSV? Me thinks yes. Totally overshadows the fact that I didn't lose this week (that 1lb was gone this morning though- no gain either).

Annnddd... I found this at Jack Sh*t, Gettin' Fit this morning, and absolutely loved the concept. We all spend so much time and energy on WHAT we're doing to get healthier, that sometimes we forget about WHY we started this journey in the first place. The really important why's. For me, looking good in a bathing suit is an awesome "why" but it's not THE "why."

These reasons are Why I Do This Here:
Why do YOU do this??

  4. awesome! I love seeing new WIDTH sets. Mine went up in September, and the results were soooo positive. Way to kick some butt on the elliptical!

  5. I loved that idea. I sent mine in.

I tried to take a picture with my camera phone but that was just a big old batch of FAIL so I modified a picture with words.

And dang you are fierce with your NSV. The elliptical still scares me. I get on and things get weird.

  6. Awwww...this is just AWESOME! My main reason for doing this is my children. I have this horrible fear of not being around to see them grow up, and I'm bound and determined to change that. :)

  8. Fantastic post. I really enjoyed it. Found you over at Lanie's blog. I'm totally interested in the 13 Reasons Why book now. Thanks for the recommendations. BTW, your goal about being like Twitter - so cute. I love it.

  9. Excellent reasons and cool images (love the Hershey's Kiss one, hah, and the scale one).

I sent my image to Jack and will post after supper about it.

And about the JW book vs Phase 4: Well, I figured how much would she deviate from her book's eating plan. I thought it would be CLOSE, not exact, cause why write a book about losing weight and then do something very different if you're recommending it to a group to ...LOSE WEIGHT? Hm. Oh, well....

  10. Thanks guys! I plan on posting the photos somewhere I will see them daily as a reminder. Best motivation I have, right there. And seriously- when I took the picture with the hershey kiss, I was angry. How many years have we wasted risking the time we have with our loved ones over something as small and silly as a piece of candy (well, a lot of them, but you get my point). Not worth it.

Kimberly and Patrick: I wish I could do what y'all do on the treadmill/running! My knee is a bigger fan of the elliptical though, and I feel like it's a better measure of what *I* can do, not what I'm willing to do while wondering if my knee is going to pay for it later, because I'm not afraid of injury on the elliptical.. if that makes sense. Hoping that building up my leg muscles will strengthen my knee enough to get back to C25K soon.

Darla: Nice to meet ya!! I could not put that book down, and I cried through so much of it.. I hope you enjoy (though that doesn't seem like the right word given the book's topic) as much as I did.

Princess: I was told she's only helping with the exercise stuff, not the food part. The exercise for week 1 in the packets looks nothing like the book either though. I'm going to do the stuff in the packet AND the 14 days of intervals on the elliptical. Not doing the detox eating though- I estimated the calories and it looked like more than 1200.
